About Christine Willoughby

Christine has lived in Knaresborough for over 60 years having attended King James School.
Christine worked in IT at King James’s School for nearly 30 years. She recently retired from The Forest School.
Christine was a Harrogate Borough Councillor for 16 years and a Town Councillor for 19 years, chairing or acting as a member of a number of effective working groups to improve the town including the Castle Working Group, Maundy Celebrations Working Group and the Neighbourhood Development Plan. She was mayor of Knaresborough between 2019 and 2022.
As the driving force behind Knaresborough in Bloom, Christine and her husband Andrew have helped Knaresborough win awards for the town.
In her spare time, she enjoys singing on the church choir at Holy Trinity, singing with the Knaresborough Choral Society and recently joined the Knaresborough Silver Band, learning a brass instrument for the first time!
