Maximising Income
During the winter months we recognise bills are more expensive. The next section will outline ways you may be able to maximise income and provides contact for agencies and organisations that may be able to help you identify any financial support you are eligible for from the government
Benefit Entitlement
You may be entitled to benefits to enable you to pay your bills. In some cases, if you receive certain benefits it may entitle you to further payments during winter or you may be entitled to discounts on council tax and energy rates (depending on income and benefits received). You can get advice to explore this from North Yorkshire Citizens Advice & Law Centre
This service is open Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 4.30 pm (except bank holidays).

Attendance Allowance
If you are 65 and over with a health condition or disability, you may be entitled to Attendance Allowance. This is a monthly payment to support you with your condition. It is not means tested so it does not depend on your income, pension or savings.
We recognise that this form is long and individuals may need support to apply. We can support you to apply for this benefit at Chain Lane Community Hub. Just contact us at the office!
