Polling Station

Polling Station

About

We are the polling station for the Knaresborough Eastfield Ward. So when elections are announced, we are the venue where eligible local residents from Eastfield are invited to come and cast their vote.

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on polling day which generally this takes place on a Thursday.

To vote in national and local elections you must be aged 18 or over. You also must make sure you are on the electoral register and from 4 May 2023, voters in England will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in some elections.

This will apply to:

  • Local elections
  • Police and Crime Commissioner elections
  • UK parliamentary by-elections
  • Recall petitions

From October 2023 it will also apply to UK General elections. If you don’t have accepted photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document, which is known as a Voter Authority Certificate. For more information see https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/voter-id?gclsrc=aw.ds

If you are living away from home, you can register to vote at your home address and where you are living. This means that you have a choice about where you vote, but you can only use your vote once in any single election. Find out more about registering to vote.
